06/11/2019A nonfiction book highlighting the lifestyle of the Anishnabe or Algonquin people from the Great Lakes area. A great overview in words and pictures to illustrate traditional First Nations living in the area. Looks at housing, how they lived off the land, food, clothing and also covers family roles and beliefs. The book ends with a short chapter on contact with the Europeans. The final page is a one-page glossary and index.
Primary – while the text may be above the reading level for many primary students, the pictures and language of the text are appropriate for primary students.
Intermediate – an appropriate resource for intermediate students to use for research.
